In honor of the Thanksgiving holiday, we are taking a week off from our #PhilanthropyFriday blog and instead highlighting some of the great work being done by sports teams, leagues and athletes for the Thanksgiving holiday. Atlanta Falcons Get Active in the Community for Thanksgiving

Associates from the Blank Family of Businesses help package over 800 Thanksgiving meals for families in need. Grady Jarrett provided and served Thanksgiving dinner to the men of the Atlanta Mission.

Family Over Everything Foundation, Inc. is the family foundation established by professional basketball players Marcus Morris, Markieff Morris and Thomas Robinson; along with Thomasine Morris. Family Over Everything Foundation provides assistance to members of underserved communities, specifically, members of single parent households, children and youth in underserved areas, members of the Philadelphia, PA; Washington, D.C.; Boston, MA and other communities.

Chiefs’ QB Patrick Mahomes & TE Travis Kelce Surprise a Local Family with Food, Gifts and a Day to Remember

Pat Mahomes and Travis Kelce make a surprise visit to a family in need. While there, representatives from KC Southern and the Guadalupe Centers informed the family that they will help pay for their home utilities for a year’s duration via the Guadalupe Centers’ Family Support Services programming. During the visit, Pat and Travis also brought along food and gifts for the family.

Miami Hurricanes DE Demetrius Jackson and teammates donate Thanksgiving dinners in Overtown

For the second straight year, Canes defensive end Demetrius Jackson is in Overtown, handing out turkeys and Thanksgiving dinners. Joining him today are teammates Michael Jackson, Nesta Silvera and Pat Bethel.

New York Giants Fans Donate for Annual Food Drive and Players Serve Meals

The NY Giants held their annual food drive for fans to donate to the less fortunate in their community. Their players also served meals at the Food Bank for NYC. 

Cam Newton provides Thanksgiving dinner to 1,200 underprivileged kids

Cam Newton provided Thanksgiving dinner to 1,200 underprivileged kids and their families as a part of his annual “Cam’s Thanksgiving Jam” event in partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank. This year’s event was the largest number of kids that Newton has ever served. Kids enjoyed music, games and entertainment and got to meet Cam in person as he helped serve the families.

Michael Jordan Hands Out Thanksgiving Dinners in Hometown

Michael Jordan handed out Thanksgiving dinners at a home improvement store in Wilmington, NC and gave away Jordan Brand shoes at a Boys & Girls Club Tuesday where he once played as a child. Learn more here

 

Baltimore Ravens Launch #FeedtheFlock Food Drive for the Maryland Food Bank

The Baltimore Ravens are encouraging fans to support the Maryland Food Bank all month long. On their November 18th home game, they collected monetary donations and non-perishable food items to support the Maryland Food Bank. They will continue to collect donations through November 30th. 

Denver Broncos Players Donate Thanksgiving Dinners to the Denver Rescue Mission

The Denver Broncos converted Mile High Stadium into a Thanksgiving dinner drive-thru for families to come pick up their meals from Broncos players. The team provided meals to over 3,000 people with support from the Denver Rescue Mission and the Broncos Women’s Organization.

FIU Football Team Participates in Thanksgiving Food Drive

Several members of the Florida International University Football team spent time passing out Thanksgiving dinners to those in need.
